Got offered a position at an outpatient GI clinic. Monday through Friday, no weekends, no holidays, home by 4:30. My kids would actually see me at dinner.
The catch is it's about $11k less a year once you factor in losing my night differential and weekend pay. And part of me worries I'll lose my skills. I've been in the ICU 9 years and that's kind of who I am at this point, if that makes sense.
My husband says take it, we'll figure out the money. My coworkers say I'll be bored in 6 months and come crawling back. I honestly don't know which version of me is going to win.
For anyone who left acute care for clinic or outpatient, did you regret it? Or did you wonder why you didn't do it sooner?
